Glassware of the Depression Era
Glassware of the Depression-era as the name connotes, has been created during the age a depression between 1921 through the late 1930s, and some artisanal glassware of the 20s which extends to the mid 40 half are also known as depression glass. For those who are uninitiated about the time of the Depression, times were often the difficult that America and the rest of the world has faced. In the meantime, if you knew where to go, you were able to acquire a complete set of dishes, all for free. Is not it incredible?
Depression glass has been designed by about 20 manufacturers who use more than one hundred drawings and models. The complexes were made simply remarkable, despite the fact that time were bitter. Glass artisans were then probably at the high levels of creativity, perhaps as an escape from despair apparently that permeated their environment. The Midwestern states of America were the focal points for the glass of depression, these positions were the nearest access to raw materials and machinery needed.
In 1929-1933, the Hocking Glass Company began to make pink glass block Optical depression. These glasses were made with parallel folds around the glass.
